Ensuring you get enough sleep is important for your health, as well as remaining productive throughout the day. You will find it difficult to complete tasks if you’re suffering from a lack of sleep.
When it comes to bedtime, prioritise turning off technology and giving your brain a chance to unwind. This will help you fall asleep faster, as you will encounter less distractions.
For an adult, you should be aiming for between 7-9 hours of sleep per night to help feel rejuvenated in the morning.  Be strict with the time you go to bed so that you get enough rest.
On the other hand, sleeping too much can also be a problem. Try not to take long naps during the day, as this can make it more difficult to fall asleep at night. The recommended amount of time for a nap is between 20-30 minutes. 
One of the most important measures you can take to remain healthy is to drink plenty of water throughout the day. Carry a water bottle with you to help remind you to drink. Many bottles have liquid measurements on the side that allow you to track your progress.
Drinking enough water is especially important in the summertime when you can easily become dehydrated. Symptoms of dehydration include nausea, dizziness, and fainting - avoid these side effects by consuming a sufficient quantity of water.
The recommended daily amount of water is between 6 and 8 cups worth.  This will support you in your busy schedule when your body needs energy to complete tasks.
If you’re exercising, take care to consume a lot of water too. Our bodies need more of this liquid when we are active, as you lose fluid when you sweat.
Whatever form of exercise you enjoy, it is essential that you make it part of your routine to keep healthy after you move abroad. Opt for walking or cycling to work rather than driving, or attend exercise classes at your local gym.
Should you live by the coast, take the opportunity to swim in the sea if it is warm. Swimming is a great form of exercise that can also be very enjoyable. Take along some friends with you to make it more fun.
Keeping active also helps to improve your mood. Try and leave the house during the day too, as this is also good for your mental health.
Persist with doing exercise and it will soon become part of your routine. Many people choose to partake in fitness before work to set them up for the day, or even at lunchtime to give themselves a break from their responsibilities.
Eating out at restaurants allows you to enjoy delicious food and socialise with friends and family, but can often be unhealthy.
Cooking at home means you can create nourishing food on a budget. There’s also no reason why you can’t invite loved ones to your home for a dinner party, where they can enjoy your most recent concoction.
You could also develop a new skill if you don’t usually cook for yourself at home. Research recipes online or purchase a cook book to get inspiration for some hearty but healthy meals.
Make an outing to a local farmers’ market to buy fresh ingredients, which will add to the taste of your food. It will also give you an appreciation for local cuisine, which can help you feel more settled into your new country after moving abroad.
