How do I personalise my own health insurance plan?

You should only pay for what you need and nothing else. With APRIL, personalising your health insurance plan only takes a few steps and allows you to meet your healthcare needs and budget. On top of your Hospital and Surgery module, you can add Outpatient, Dental/Optical and Maternity modules. Each module includes 3 different levels of cover: Essential, Extensive, and Elite.

With MyHEALTH Singapore, you can select a specific area of cover and some premium discount options. Emergency assistance and repatriation are included in all our plans.

Each family member can customise their own coverage.

Where am I covered with MyHEALTH Singapore?

MyHEALTH Singapore allows you to choose your area of cover between « Worldwide » or « Worldwide excluding USA ». Your level of coverage and benefits remain the same throughout your area of cover, whether you are in Singapore or travelling abroad.

MyHEALTH Singapore is portable to most countries worldwide, meaning that if you need to move you can keep you plan to help avoiding having to go through underwriting again, as well as breaks in coverage.

Can I use MyHEALTH Singapore as a top-up?

Yes, you can buy MyHEALTH Singapore if you are already covered by a local or company health plan that isn't providing the protection you need. You may purchase Hospital & Surgery cover with an annual deductible (that will be covered by your local/company health plan) or opt for optional benefits such as Outpatient or Dental/Optical if your existing plan doesn’t cover them.

More specifically, in case of hospitalisation, your local plan will cover your medical expenses up to its limit. APRIL will cover the remaining expenses (up to your annual limit too).

MyHEALTH Singapore can also cover you for any benefits that your local plan does not cover, depending on the modules you select.

Which underwriting methods are available under MyHEALTH Singapore?

We offer 3 underwriting methods under MyHEALTH Singapore: FMU (Full Medical Underwriting), Moratorium, and CPME (Continuous Personal Medical Exclusions).

Under the FMU application process, you must declare your entire medical history. APRIL will then make an offer based on your health declaration.

Moratorium is a simplified underwriting method. After a two-year treatment- and symptom-free period, any pre-existing conditions you have may become eligible for coverage.

With CPME, you will not have to go through medical underwriting again and your cover will continue under the same terms as your previous medical insurance provider. Your former health insurance company must be on our approved list for you to be eligible for CPME.

Who is eligible to apply for MyHEALTH Singapore?

-For FMU and CPME underwriting methods: we accept applications from people aged 65 and under.

-For Moratorium, those aged 45 and under.

-We then offer lifetime renewals. We may cover anyone residing in Singapore at the time of the application, including children only—no extra surcharge will be added on to child only policies.
